Gardening with Wildlife in MindSUMMER IS HERE.....WE HAVE LOTS OF LOVELY NEW PLANTS NOW IN STOCK..... HANGING BASKETS & PLANTED CONTAINERS.....WHY NOT CALL IN FOR A DELICIOUS DEVON CREAM TEA?.....

Eggesford Gardens is a corporate supporter of Devon Wildlife Trust. We are working closely with the Trust through their Garden Centre accreditation scheme and have recently achieved Silver level in the scheme - we are the first garden centre in Devon to achieve this level.

Gardening with wildlife in mind is really pretty easy. Like us, wild creatures need 3 things: food, water and shelter. By adding these features into our gardens many more helpful species will become welcome visitors.

  • The more different food sources you offer, the more species you will attract.
  • Water is essential for all wildlife - ponds, barrels, bird baths all have their place.
  • Wildlife needs shelter for many reasons: protection from the elements, from predators, to hibernate, to raise young. Creating different habitats means that your garden visitors can become residents all year round.
