| We are lucky to have wildlife in abundance
at Eggesford Gardens and many of our customers are keen to
find out how to attract more birds or mammals into their
garden.
The Countryside and Wildlife Day at Eggesford Gardens is
the perfect opportunity to find out more about our
wonderful, native flora and fauna and also how you can get
more involved in nature and conservation.
Eggesford Gardens is the first garden centre in Devon to
have achieved silver level in Devon Wildlife Trust's Garden
Centre Approval Scheme. The Trust will have a Gardening for
Wildlife advice clinic running on the day and experts will
be on hand to give any help and advice that you need.
Gardening for wildlife has many benefits - first of all
you get to watch some beautiful creatures at close range
and, just as important, many of these creatures are natural
predators to the bugs, slugs and snails that are less
welcome visitors. Creating habitats for wildlife in our
gardens is vital to the survival of many species.
Many other organisations will be represented including
The Forestry Commission, RSPB, local moth, butterfly, bee
keeping and bird-watching groups, Devon and Cornwall Rail
Partnership and experts on wild flowers.
Exmoor Zoo, Owls R Us and Devon Wildlife Hospital will be
on hand to talk about their conservation and animal rescue
work and will have some feathered and furred friends with
them too!
Please
contact us if you would like to participate or need any
more information. |
