The Apple and Cider Fair at Eggesford Gardens is probably
our most popular event. A weekend in celebration of the
apple and all it's uses, it is great fun for all the family.
As well as the opportunity to taste and buy cider and apple
juice from local producers, there will be many other apple
based produce including preserves, pies, cakes and
confectionery. Country wines and liquers, locally made beer,
cheeses, honey and savouries make the perfect accompaniment.
This year we will have a cider bar with ciders from 4
different local cider makers - Sandford Orchards,
Brimblecombes, Grays and Danns. Cider will be available in
1/2 pint glasses and we will also be serving hot roast pork
buns - a perfect match.
If you have apple trees and are not sure of the variety,
then experts from Orchards Live will be on hand to help.
There will be many different and unusual varieties of apple
on show as well as apples to buy. You can also bring along
your own apples for pressing and have your own fresh juice
or start making your own cider. Please
